Hiyo dudes and dudettes!

Time for a quick Geekdom Roundup, interesting nerd topics from around the web! Have at it!

* Note: Nothing on this page is sponsored. This is purely fun stuff I found.

Another entry in the Jurassic World get pilloried by reviewers and panned by critics. Show of hands, who's really surprised?! To this day I think Jurassic Park is a perfect movie, and everything that came afterwards was needless, to be polite. David Crow from Den of Geeks says this: "[Any] fruitless stabs at self-awareness have not prevented this film’s real capitalist forces from making something ugly, abominable, and devoid of that precious childlike wonder." Ouch.

Over at CNET, they have a really good rundown of the best Bluetooth Wireless Speakers for 2022. This one is near and dear to my heart cause I'm currently shopping for a new wireless speaker for the back deck at our house. Best summer accessory. SPOILER, they really loved the Tribit MaxSound Plus at under which is currently on sale at Amazon for $67.99. Hmm... Might be my next backyard accessory!

Giving some love to our regional neighbours, make sure to mark your calendars for the return to in person comic book conventions! Kingston Ontario will be running its Comicon on September 25th 2022 where you'll be able to peruse a variety of vendors and check out some killer cosplay! More details here.

I found this killer article from blogger Crystal Paul from 2015 that lists 21 essential books nerds need to read. Its an oldie but a goodie with classic selections such as Asimov's "I, Robot" and Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Are there more recent articles? Probably, but the classics should make even the most modern lists, and make for great reading.

If you and your companions are from Ottawa and are looking for a killer setting to continue your campaign in, get in touch with Kobold's Corner. They have an online calendar where you can book event space for TTRPG campaign sessions. Check out their Events page for more details on booking your group in for a sesh.

That's it for this time fellow geeks. I hope you are living your best geek life and thanks for visiting with us today!
